I had to remove Vista from my laptop to restore my T-mobile cell modem service. I reinstalled Win-xp Pro and found that Vista installed many files that cannot be removed and many Win-xp features are unusable. Windows update keeps installing the same update because of an update version problem, Outlook express will not open, Outlook has a terminal "can't find wab.dll" problem, windows Media Player has some "internal error". The work arounds for me are to use "Real Player" for video and Thunderbird for e-mail. Vista looks good but should not be installed on a machine that needs to run legacy items that do not and will not have drivers. I liked "Windows Mail" but it did irreversable things to the XP address book structure.
